Troutman NC, home to more than 3700 residents and nestled in the Carolina Piedmont, embraces the quintessential small-town spirit that gives it such distinct charm. Troutman residents, with a median age of 38, bring a youthful, progressive energy to the town and enjoy easy access to a multitude of jobs and entertainment opportunities through Troutman's proximity to Charlotte, Greensboro, Hickory, and Winston-Salem.

Governing Council: Troutman's governing board consists of Mayor Teross Young and a five-member town council. Town Council members are Paul Henkel (Mayor Pro Tempore), Felina J. Harris, Nicholas Jaroszynski, Edward R. Nau, and Jerry Oxsher. The Town Council meets the second Thursday of each month at Town Hall at 7:00 pm. Town Council meetings are open to the public.

Town Administration: Town Hall administrative staff consists of Town Manager, Ronald N. Wyatt; Kim Davis, Town Clerk; Justin Mundy, Finance Director; Andrew Ventresca, Planning Director; Emily Watson, Parks and Recreation Director; Lou Borek, HR Director; Kimberly Sager, Utility Billing Specialist & Customer Service; Jessica Davidson, Vinessa Pinheiro, and Susan Kinahan, Customer Service 

Public Works Department: Under the direction of the Public Works Director, Austin Waugh, the Public Works Department has six employees to maintain the sewer, street, and water repairs for the Town.

Troutman Police Department: Under the leadership of Josh Watson, Chief of Police, Troutman Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency composed of twenty-five full-time officers. The department is focused on proactive policing and community engagement. 

In 2020, the State Demographer’s Office estimated Troutman’s current population to be approximately 3,700. Troutman was established in 1905.
