Recycling Collection

Town of Troutman provides recycling collection through Republic Services Inc. Republic collects the recycling every other week. Troutman has five recycling schedules. Tuesday BLUE, Tuesday GREEN, Wednesday BLUE, Wednesday GREEN, and Thursday GREEN Recycling. The pickup schedule is determined by garbage pickup day or subdivision.

• Parkwood at Falls Cove, Falls Park, Falls Cove at Lake Norman, Twin Coves, and Enclave at Falls Cove pick-up schedule is on the Green Week–Wednesday collection.
• If your garbage is collected on Monday or Wednesday, your recycling will be collected every other Wednesday

• If your garbage is collected on Tuesday, your recycling will be collected every other Tuesday.
• If your garbage is collected on Thursday, your recycling will be collected on Wednesday.
• If your garbage is collected on Thursday (*Norwood Walk), your recycling will be collected on Thursday.

Holidays: If your recycling/garbage falls on a holiday that Republic is closed, collection runs a day behind when a holiday falls on a Monday-Thursday.

• Yes — Cardboard
• Yes — Aluminum Cans
• Yes — Tin & Steel Cans
• Yes — Plastic Marked (#1-2)
• Yes — Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Junk mail, Phone books, etc.
• NO — Glass, Garbage, Yard Waste, Dishes, Hazardous Materials, Mirrors, Electronics, Cups, Plastic Marked (#3-7) & other plastic containers, Batteries, Clothing, Aerosol Cans. (see flyer)


~ All Items must be within the container or the container will NOT be emptied.
~ It must also have a minimum of 6 feet clearance all around the container when you place it at the curb or it will NOT be emptied.

Each address is assigned one recycling container. If an additional container is needed, it can be added to your utility bill for an additional monthly fee. Call Town Hall for details at 704-528-7600.

(C) Receptacles for garbage and trash may be placed at the curb on the night before the scheduled pickup. Rollout containers and other receptacles must be removed from the curb by 8:00 a.m. on the day after they are collected. It is the responsibility of the householder to pick up loose debris around the collection area.
